Breakfast and Sunday

Leisurely breakfast and Sunday morning just seem to go together, and enjoying breakfast out makes it even more of a special treat.  No preparation, no dishes to wash.  How does it get any better?

A favorite place is Home Kitchen Cafe in Rockland, Maine, where you can eat inside or out enjoying the breeze from the bay.

Take one look at this sticky bun, and it’s easy to figure out why this cafe is a good choice.  Of course, when you have one of these calorie count goes right out the window.

There are always specials on the board, and I like to try one of those.

Today’s choice was the tortilla and green chile scramble  which in Texas would be called migas.

My husband can never resist the corned beef hash with poached eggs.  The hash is homemade and chock full of freshly cooked and chopped corned beef.  This dish is what I could call a real comfort food.

Having indulged in such an over the top breakfast means no lunch and a light dinner, but it was worth it to have such a wonderful summer Sunday morning.

I love your comments, so jump right in.

Your bio was so interesting. I love creative people. I’ve always been intrigued by those that can design fabric. I will look forward to following your blog.

  4. Those buns look absolutely killer. I love breakfast foods, just not at breakfast time, unless it’s more like 10:30 – vacation breakfast time. I love finding good breakfast places on vacation. Thanks for sharing. You made my mouth water.

  6. Home Cooking is the best for breakfast and your pictures and descriptions captured it well. I love catching up with friends over breakfast as I did this morning at Home Cooking. By the time we left the torrential rain had turned to mist. Still have to try the sticky buns.

I can’t wait to try your mussel recipe.

You make my day with your comments
